Oregon Ducks Put Down Washington Huskies

At the damp and muddy Pat Ryan Field, 30 minutes from the University of Washington near the SeaTac Airport. The Oregon Ducks traveled up to play the University of Washington Huskies after playing them once early in the season. The Ducks laid a beating on the Huskies, winning 59-5 at Agnes Steward Middle School. The game played out just as well as you could expect for both teams. With the weather being a massive problem for both teams, it became a game of kick and chase, with the ball being traded between both sides' fullbacks for a lot of the first half. With this game coming down to who could hold on to the ball for longer, set pieces like scrums and lineouts were crucial to the success of the Oregon Ducks, with loosehead prop and man of the match recipient Donovan Paulino scoring a last-minute try to give Oregon the win over the rivals, the Washington Huskies. With possession being such a key aspect of Oregon's performance, Senior Fullback Brooks Fisher scored the final try of the game and controlling the game with his well-placed kicks and tactical runs into contact. The forwards in this match deserve a round of applause for maintaining control of the ball during set pieces, winning most, if not all, of the scrums and keeping that momentum going with great pod work and goal line stands on both defence and offence. One highlight in the forward pack was Senior Lock Owen Bourguois scoring with a try line push and a stand out proformence holding the scrum together despite the terrible pitch and weather conditions. The Oregon Ducks will go on to play the Central Washington Wildcats at home on February 28th at Agnes Stuart Middle School.
